Fungi is an original puppet theatre production exploring the hidden underground ecosystem of mushrooms. At the intersection of science and poetry, it reveals the networked patterns of life and transforms them into a stage image. The production creates an autonomous theatrical organism based on principles similar to mycelium: without a centre, without hierarchy, and in constant transformation. The stage becomes a metaphor for soil, a place where different voices, organisms and stories meet. Rather than illustrating biological processes, “Fungi” poetically embodies a world that mostly remains invisible to the human eye. An important inspiration was Merlin Sheldrake’s book “Entangled Life,” which presents fungi as one of the fundamental architects of life on Earth.
